EMPOWER ME – SELF-DEFENSE
Do NOT BE A VICTIM!
“If Violent Crime is to be curbed, it is only the intended victim who can do it. The felon does not fear the police, and he fears neither judge nor jury. Therefore, what he must be taught to fear is his victim.”
SELF-DEFENSE PRESENTATIONS
ARE YOU ALWAYS PREPARED FOR THE UNKNOWN?
What do criminals look for in a victim? Criminals typically select individuals who are vulnerable and unaware of their surroundings. Yes, that means the many people today who walk down the street staring at their cell phones are needlessly at risk. Remember that attackers are betting you will NOT fight back, hoping you will freeze. Do you walk with confidence or do you walk afraid, and weak, scared that something might happen? How do you react when someone in a dark parking lot yells, Hey, you! Wait a minute I want to talk to you.” Do you greet them in a friendly manner?
Are you jogging with earbuds covering both ears, in which case you have NO CLUE what’s going on around you. Are you walking on a parking lot or street in a shady area wearing high heels or flip-flops, or, are you wearing shoes that would make running away easier.
A sHORT VIDEO ON YOUTH SELF-DEFENSE
There are two types of victims. In one case the smooth attacker will start up a conversation with the intended victim, asking them to please give them a few dollars for gas. They will approach a woman in a Wal-Mart and apologize for hitting her car, and ask her to go outside and see the damage. They will ask for the time. Or directions. The second more brazen attack is to walk right up to the intended victim and loudly say,
“Give me your wallet!” Your purse. Your cell phone.
In the second case the reactions are the same anywhere in the world, and have been for thousands of years. The victim will either FIGHT. They will RUN AWAY. Or they will FREEZE.
The EMPOWER ME – Do NOT be a Victim! – Self Defense Presentation will make your mind focus on similar scenarios, about what you should say, what you should do, and the difference could mean you going home safely to greet your friends or loved ones that night. Or you might end up in a hospital. Or worse. John Steinbeck said, “If you find yourself in a fair fight, your tactics suck.”
What does the Empower me Self-Defense Presentation offer?
- You will learn how to NOT let strangers into “YOUR SPACE”.
- Learn common sense strategies to avoid hazardous situations. What do you do if a car is following you on a cold rainy, dark night?
- Learn the best way to react if you DO feel threatened. We will discuss both running away, and how, if you so choose, to fight back.
- Learn simple but powerful Self Defense techniques if a crisis is unavoidable. The focus is on an awareness, a mindset, and strategies, to keep you and your loved ones SAFE.
“The BEST fight is the one you were NOT IN, because you avoided it.”
You will walk out of this Self Defense presentation SO MUCH MORE aware, much more perceptive of your surroundings, and much more confident in how best to react, and that if you find yourself in a crisis or possibly dangerous attack situation you will have something to draw from. You will be as calm as you can, and implement a strategy, so you will NOT be a VICTIM. Freezing is NOT AN OPTION.
